Amazon Music now lets playlists use custom cover art and descriptions

Custom playlist artwork and descriptions are live on Amazon Music mobile. That gives artists and labels another place to package a release campaign like editorial content.

What changed in Amazon Music

Amazon Music added custom playlist cover art and descriptions on iOS and Android worldwide. Playlist owners can upload an image and add a description of up to 300 characters.

For artists and labels, that turns a playlist into a more intentional campaign surface instead of a title and track list alone.

Ways independent artists can use it

  • Build a release-week playlist around the new single or album.
  • Use custom artwork that matches the release campaign instead of generic playlist art.
  • Write a short description that gives listeners context without stuffing it with promotional copy.
  • Create tour, influence, collaborator or label-catalog playlists that keep listeners inside the same musical world.
