How payouts work

Understand how NORTH connects earnings to the secure payment setup managed by our accounting partner.

NORTH and the beneficiary portal have different jobs

NORTH is where you manage the release, splits, delivery, analytics, and royalty reporting surfaces. The beneficiary portal reached from your accounting email is the secure payee environment used to accept allocations, maintain payee information, track monthly royalty earnings, and request eligible withdrawals.

You do not use your NORTH password to access the beneficiary portal unless the portal specifically uses the same email to identify you. Treat it as a separate account and keep access to both services.

How you get access

  1. 01

Make sure your correct email address is saved on the release split in NORTH.

  2. 02

After NORTH approves the release, open the automated split email sent to that address.

  3. 03

    Choose the Beneficiary Portal action.

  4. 04

Create your beneficiary/payee account if this is your first allocation, or sign in to your existing portal account.

  5. 05

Complete the secure onboarding requested by the portal and accept the allocation.

Monthly earnings

Royalty earnings are not real-time. Stores and services report revenue on financial schedules, and the beneficiary portal updates as those monthly reports are processed.

Use NORTH Analytics for performance trends and use the royalty/beneficiary reporting for accounting. A stream appearing in analytics does not mean its revenue is immediately withdrawable.

When you can withdraw

Withdrawals become available once your available beneficiary balance reaches $50. At that point, you can request payment through PayPal from the beneficiary portal.

If you have not reached $50, the balance stays in the portal and continues accumulating as additional monthly earnings are reported. Each collaborator has their own beneficiary balance and reaches the threshold independently.

For collaborators

Every collaborator added to a NORTH split receives their own allocation email after approval. They create or access their own beneficiary account, accept their own split, track their own monthly earnings, and request their own PayPal withdrawal after their available balance reaches $50.

The release owner does not need to collect collaborators’ payment details and should never ask them to share portal passwords or sensitive tax information.
